The BDA and its work with the media 2017

Our work with the media. We take our important relationship with the media very seriously. We have a fab team of over 100 spokespeople who are all dietitians and take part in the BDA’s media training. We try our very best to meet journalists’ deadlines. And our spokespeople always provide comment based on the latest evidence in diet and nutrition. That’s why in 2016 we received national and international media coverage worth over 26 million pounds. And in just two months we achieved over 270 UK media mentions, and over 5.6 million pounds worth of international coverage. And 2017 is going well too with over 1750 items of media coverage in the UK and internationally from January 2017 to June 2017. If you’re a BDA member, check out our monthly report in Dietetics Today, to see where the BDA has featured in the media… We are also active on social media so make sure to connect with us too, on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. We have some popular social media graphics on detox diets, superfoods and the Alkaline diet, which were shared far and wide. It’s really important that the dietetic message is heard and that we promote evidence-based messages… So make sure to visit our media centre to find out more and see how you can get involved at www.bda.uk.com/media
